Delta Unveils First Austin Paris Nonstop for 2027

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin is getting a direct line to Paris, and this one is more than another pin on Delta Air Lines' route map. The flight will be Delta's first long haul service from the fast-growing Central Texas airport.

Delta announced Thursday that it will begin nonstop flights between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport on March 27, 2027. According to TravelPulse, the airline plans to operate the route daily throughout the summer season.

It will also be the first regularly scheduled nonstop service between Austin and Paris, according to The Points Guy. That gives travelers in Central Texas a new way across the Atlantic without first heading to another U.S. gateway, which is rarely the glamorous part of any European vacation.

Delta's Austin to Paris flight schedule

The eastbound flight, DL100, is scheduled to depart Austin at 3:15 p.m. and arrive in Paris at 8:15 a.m. the next morning, TravelPulse reported. The return flight, DL99, will leave Paris at 10:10 a.m. and arrive in Austin at 2:20 p.m.

Delta will use an Airbus A330-900neo with 281 passenger seats. The configuration includes 29 Delta One lie-flat business-class seats, 28 Delta Premium Select seats and 224 main-cabin seats, according to TravelPulse.

That mix gives Delta three clearly different products to sell on the route. Travelers looking for a bed can book Delta One, while Premium Select provides a middle option for those who want more comfort but aren't ready to make the financial leap into business class. Most of the aircraft, of course, remains devoted to the main cabin.

The flight will be seasonal, with daily summer operations and a temporary wind-down in autumn, according to The Points Guy. Travelers considering Paris outside the summer schedule will need to check operating dates carefully rather than assuming the nonstop runs year-round.

"Austin's growth continues to create new opportunities for customers, and Delta is proud to grow alongside it. Launching Austin's first nonstop service to Paris is a defining milestone, but it's just one part of our broader investment in the region," said Joe Esposito, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Delta Air Lines, according to TravelPulse.

Paris becomes Austin's fourth nonstop European destination

Paris will become Austin's fourth nonstop European destination, joining London Heathrow, Amsterdam Schiphol and Frankfurt, according to Travel + Leisure. KLM already operates nonstop service between Austin and its Amsterdam hub, TravelPulse reported.

Delta's arrival is notable for another reason: It will make the airline the only U.S. carrier operating nonstop flights between Austin and Europe, according to TravelPulse. European airlines already serve the market, so Delta isn't entering an empty field. Still, putting its own aircraft on a transatlantic route gives the carrier a much more visible role in Austin.

Paris also works as a connecting hub rather than merely a final destination. TravelPulse reported that Delta's joint venture with Air France-KLM will provide access to nearly 60 destinations in Europe, India and Africa. The Points Guy reported more than 70 one-stop connections through Paris Charles de Gaulle across those regions.

"From expanded domestic flying to strong international connectivity through our partnership with Air France-KLM, we're making it easier than ever for customers to connect from Central Texas to destinations around the world," said Joe Esposito, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Delta Air Lines, according to TravelPulse.

Delta is building a broader Austin operation

The Paris route arrives as part of a larger expansion. Delta says its Austin operation will grow to more than 70 peak-day departures serving 30 destinations by summer 2027, according to Travel + Leisure.

TravelPulse reported that Delta will launch daily nonstop flights between Austin and San Diego on April 12, 2027. The airline also plans to increase Austin to San Jose service from one to two daily flights and make its Austin to Cancun route a year-round operation in 2027.

The investment extends to the airport itself. Delta plans to add a second Sky Club and ultimately operate from 15 gates in Concourse A at Austin-Bergstrom, according to TravelPulse. The airline employs more than 900 people across Central Texas and recently opened a base with more than 100 flight attendants.

The booking calculus for Central Texas travelers

For Austin travelers, the appealing part isn't simply Paris. In my view, the useful change is access to Delta's wider network through Charles de Gaulle. A nonstop overnight flight followed by one European, Indian or African connection can be a cleaner itinerary than starting with a domestic positioning flight.

There are two catches worth remembering. First, this is seasonal service, so travelers planning autumn trips shouldn't build an itinerary around the nonstop until Delta's operating calendar confirms it. Second, an attractive new route doesn't automatically mean attractive fares. There are no published fare figures in the announcement, so comparison shopping against Austin's existing European gateways will still matter.

Frequent Delta flyers in Central Texas gain something they haven't had before: a Delta-operated long haul departure from their home airport. Meanwhile, travelers who aren't committed to one carrier will have another European gateway to compare with London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. That competition, plus the different connection possibilities at each hub, makes schedule and total trip time just as important as the headline ticket price.

Delta is making a sizable bet with a 281-seat widebody and daily summer service. For Austin, though, the milestone is refreshingly simple: Paris will finally be one overnight flight away, no domestic connection required.
