Barcelona Breaks Density Records

Barcelona now welcomes more tourists per square kilometer than any other destination on Earth, according to a press release by Nomad eSIM. The company’s 2025 analysis calculates that the Catalan capital receives 20.37 million visitors a year within a compact 101-square-kilometer footprint—an eye-watering density of 201,722 tourists per square kilometer. By comparison, traditionally congested hot spots such as Cancun (147,887 tourists per square kilometer), Porto (143,902) and New York City (137,712) all trail far behind.

Hilton is set to expand its all-inclusive portfolio in Cancun with the transformation of the Sens Cancun into a Tapestry Collection adults-only resort. Situated in Cancun's popular hotel zone, the beachfront Sens Cancun is currently operated as a family-friendly destination by Oasis Hotels & Resorts, which owns and manages the property.
