Salamander Collection has added the renowned PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to its luxury hospitality portfolio. The company partnered with real estate firms Henderson Park and South Street Partners to acquire the property from Brookfield Asset Management for an undisclosed amount.
Originally opened in 1981, the 807-acre resort recently completed a $100 million renovation. It features 360 guestrooms and six golf courses, including designs by legendary golfers Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. The Champion Course, designed by Nicklaus, has hosted the PGA Tour's Cognizant Classic since 2007.
Beyond golf, the resort offers a 40,000-square-foot spa, tennis and pickleball courts, and four restaurants, including The Butcher’s Club, a steakhouse helmed by Top Chef winner Jeremy Ford.
Calling it "one of the most iconic golf resorts in America," Sheila Johnson, founder and CEO of Salamander Collection, expressed excitement about bringing the brand’s distinctive hospitality approach to the property.
Future plans for the resort include a new pool and "significant enrichments to the golf experience" for both members and guests.
The PGA National Resort becomes Salamander’s second Florida golf resort, joining Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor. With this acquisition, the company now operates seven luxury properties in its expanding portfolio.
