MSC Cruises has officially opened what it calls the world’s largest cruise terminal at PortMiami. The MSC Miami Cruise Terminal welcomed its first ship, MSC Seascape, on February 8.
The massive facility is designed to accommodate up to three ships at once and can process as many as 36,000 guests per day, according to MSC. This year, the cruise line will sail four ships from the terminal, including the highly anticipated MSC World America, which is set to debut in April with seven-night itineraries. The terminal will also serve MSC’s luxury sister brand, Explora Journeys.
Construction of the terminal began in March 2022 as a collaboration between the Cruise Division of MSC Group, PortMiami, and Miami-Dade County. It was designed by the architecture firm Arquitectonica and built by Fincantieri Infrastructure.
The opening of the terminal marks a significant milestone for MSC Cruises, further solidifying Miami as a major hub for the global cruise industry.
