BOSTON, United States - United Airlines is putting a tightly targeted ski flight on the map for New England travelers, adding nonstop service between Boston Logan International Airport and Jackson Hole Airport from Feb. 13 through March 20, 2027.

The seasonal route will use a 126-seat Boeing 737-700, according to Simple Flying. The Boston flight is scheduled to depart at 10:20 a.m. and arrive in Jackson Hole at 1:45 p.m. The return is scheduled to leave Jackson Hole at 12:40 p.m. and arrive in Boston at 7:30 p.m.

The limited operating period is the central point of the announcement. This is not a broad expansion of year-round service. United is placing the Boston flight inside a narrow winter window that includes Presidents Day weekend and Northeastern school vacation periods, according to the research accompanying the route announcement.

For Boston-area skiers and snowboarders, the appeal is straightforward: a nonstop replaces an itinerary that previously required a connection. That is a meaningful change when passengers are traveling with winter clothing, ski equipment and fixed resort reservations.

Boston becomes United’s eighth Jackson Hole route

Boston will become United’s eighth nonstop route serving Jackson Hole during the 2026-2027 winter season, Simple Flying reported. The airline will also serve Jackson Hole nonstop from seven U.S. hubs: Denver, Chicago O’Hare, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco and Washington Dulles.

Denver is United’s only Jackson Hole route that operates year-round, according to Simple Flying. The rest of the network reflects the seasonal nature of demand for travel into Wyoming’s Teton Range.

The Boston addition pushes United’s Jackson Hole strategy beyond its established hub system. Boston is not one of the seven hubs listed for the winter network, making this a targeted leisure route rather than a conventional hub connection.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has more than 4,000 feet of vertical drop and is known for advanced terrain, according to the supplied background research. Jackson Hole Airport is located within Grand Teton National Park and serves as the region’s primary air gateway for winter tourism.

“We’re thrilled to give Boston skiers and riders a direct route to their best season yet. Jackson Hole has been a mecca for New England skiers and riders since our lifts first started spinning in 1965, with terrain you can’t find anywhere else, snow that keeps piling up all winter, and a mountain town with true Western character. Now guests can leave Logan in the morning and be in Teton Village that same afternoon, and we cannot wait to welcome them,” said Doug Pierini, CEO at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, according to Simple Flying.

A route built around peak ski demand

The Feb. 13 to March 20 schedule is an example of hyper-seasonal airline planning. Industry research provided with the announcement notes that U.S. leisure routes of this kind often operate for about 5 to 10 weeks, concentrating service during periods when demand is strongest.

That approach allows an airline to serve a destination without committing aircraft across an entire season. In this case, United is avoiding the earlier part of winter and focusing on a period aligned with a major U.S. holiday and several school vacation weeks.

Jackson Hole also fits the model better than a destination dependent primarily on drive traffic. It is a fly-to mountain market, and direct access matters to travelers trying to fit a Western ski trip into a long weekend or school break. Removing a connection does not eliminate every friction point, but it simplifies the trip considerably.

The booking calculus for New England skiers

The short service window should shape how travelers approach this route. In my view, the nonstop is most useful for passengers whose resort plans already fall squarely between Feb. 13 and March 20. Travelers considering dates near either end of the schedule should confirm that both their outbound and return flights operate within United’s seasonal window before committing to lodging or other nonrefundable arrangements.

The 126-seat aircraft also matters. This is not an enormous block of capacity spread across the winter. Popular school-break dates can concentrate demand quickly, and passengers who value the nonstop should compare the full itinerary rather than looking only at the fare. A cheaper connecting ticket may carry more logistical exposure when bags, ski equipment and fixed check-in times are involved.

The schedule also creates an uneven planning reality. The Boston departure and afternoon arrival support same-day travel into the Jackson Hole area, as Pierini noted. On the return, the 12:40 p.m. departure requires travelers to plan their final morning around the airport rather than assume another full day on the mountain.

This route is best read as a precise seasonal tool, not a permanent new bridge between New England and Wyoming. United is testing concentrated demand during a clearly defined stretch of the ski calendar. For travelers, that makes the flight genuinely useful but date-sensitive. If the schedule matches the trip, it removes the connection that has long complicated Boston access to Jackson Hole. If it does not, United’s seven hub routes remain the broader network behind the mountain.
