Norway green-lights 3% tax on cruises, overnight stays

Travelers eyeing Norway’s fjords, Arctic lights, and culture-rich coastal cities will soon face a new cost of entry. The Norwegian Parliament has approved legislation that allows municipalities to levy a 3 percent tax on overnight stays and day-tripping cruise passengers, starting in the summer of 2026.
