Royal Caribbean International has announced a third preview sailing for its newest ship, the Star of the Seas, ahead of the vessel’s official maiden voyage. The three-night cruise will depart from Port Canaveral, Florida on August 20, 2024, offering early access to the line’s second Icon-class cruise ship.
The newly added sailing will visit Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, delivering a short but immersive experience aboard one of the most highly anticipated cruise ships in the industry.
This addition joins two previously scheduled “showcase sailings,” set to depart on August 23 and August 27, both featuring four-night itineraries with similar routes.
Initially, Star of the Seas was scheduled to debut on August 17, 2024. However, due to anticipated delivery delays, Royal Caribbean pushed the maiden voyage back to August 31, resulting in the cancellation of two seven-night cruises. In a subsequent update in January 2025, the cruise line confirmed that the ship would arrive earlier than expected, allowing for the additional preview sailings.
Guests originally booked on the inaugural sailing were given the opportunity to rebook on one of the showcase cruises to experience the new vessel ahead of its official debut.
