MSC Cruises is set to launch its first-ever Alaska itineraries in 2026, offering seven-night cruises aboard the MSC Poesia from Seattle. The MSC Poesia, a midsized ship with a capacity of 2,550 passengers at double occupancy, is designed to navigate Alaska’s narrow channels, providing close-up views of the region's glaciers and scenic landscapes. MSC highlighted that the Poesia’s size makes it an ideal vessel for exploring Alaska’s famed Inside Passage.
The Alaska itinerary will include key port stops at Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Juneau, along with a visit to Victoria, British Columbia.
To arrive on the West Coast, the MSC Poesia will undertake a 20-day repositioning cruise from Miami to Seattle, departing April 23, 2026. This voyage will traverse the Panama Canal and make stops in Cartagena, Colombia; Colon, Panama; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; San Diego; and Los Angeles. The season will conclude with a return Panama Canal cruise from Seattle to Miami, departing September 28, 2026.
Additionally, the Poesia will first make a transatlantic journey from the Mediterranean to Miami, leaving Civitavecchia (Rome) on April 6, 2026, and arriving in Miami on April 22.
This marks MSC Cruises’ expansion into Alaska, adding a new option for travelers seeking the cruise line’s European-style offerings in one of North America’s most sought-after cruising destinations.
